Tea party- OKC

Well, the tea party in OKC was a great experience! It was my first time every to attend a rally and I enjoyed it. The expectation was about 1,500 people and OHP estimated the crowd at about 4 to 5 thousand. I got there about 1 1/2 hrs. early and there were people gathering already. The OK congress was in session and so were we. We met on the south steps of the state capitol with mounds of enthusiasm and energy bouncing between the capitol and the Petunia #1.

We opened the meeting with the singing of the national anthem. There was a younger girl that lead the anthem but WE ALL SANG! It was amazing! The first time I had been anywhere that the national anthem was sang by whole crowd! And we followed the Star Spangled Banner with the Pledge of Allegiance. The mood was electric. The feeling was one of belonging. You felt like this is the place to be.

A broad spectrum of Okies was in attendance. There were veterans with their medals, retirees waving flags, students with their teachers, moms and dads with their children, brothers and sisters, neighbors and friends. We were all friends. Friends sharing a common bond. A bond of ideas and principles. It made you wonder if this was the feeling the founders had as they gathered in Philadelphia to debate and put ink to the parchments that started the fire of the American dream? Maybe, or maybe it was more solemn an event for them. For they were pledging their fortunes and lives for the good of the people. I can't imagine the weight upon their minds. Knowing that the king, with the might of the British military, would target the men who wrote the documents of American Independence! And still they did it. With the support of the People. We The People.

They created the atmosphere of our tea party. An atmosphere where a group of fellow Americans can gather together, age zero to 100, and make their voices heard. Whether or not the media even followed or correctly reported our gathering, the People were heard!

There were speaches by ordinary people. People like you and me. A college student, a local radio personality, an Veteran Army Ranger from Op. Desert Storm, etc. No politicians spoke. And it was best that they didn't. The people are tired of listening to them, tired of their rhetoric. April 15th was the day they needed to listen to the people. And listen they better! Because if they don't this movement will get bigger and bigger until they no longer need to listen. Because they will be out of office. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY ARE A REP. OR DEM.! This is a nation of CAN and the people are tired of hearing CAN'T from the political class. Every time we turn around there is something else we CAN'T do. CAN'T let poor business models fail, CAN'T let banks with bad lending practices fail, CAN'T win the war in Iraq.(in my opinion we already won the war. Now is just nation building.) YES WE CAN. This is the greatest nation on Earth. American resolve and american ingenutiy can withstand any challenge. As long as the People are the driving force, and Govt. gets the hell out of the way, this nation will continue to be the greatest nation on Earth!

Quick note: the Petunia #1 is an oil well directly south of the south steps. It was drilled in the middle of a flower bed in 1941 and produced 600 bbls of oil a day until 1986 when it went dry. Hence the name Petunia.

BO's New Speak

If any of you have read the book 1984 by George Orwell then you know that in that book he is somewhat prophetic. In the book the Gov. controls everything even the vocabulary! Sound familiar yet? How about this: The overseas contigency plan. Or man caused disaster? With these two phrases the BO admin. has changed the way we look at the war on terror.

Going from using the term "war on terror" to "overseas contigency plan" gives the left the ability to play down the war and soothe the hearts of their base. Effectively ending the war by not refering to it as a war. These soldiers are not sacrificing their lives and limbs in an "overseas contigency plan". They are doing it in a damn WAR. A war against Islamofascism. A war against TERRORISTS that plan and act out TERRORIST ATTACKS. Give them that respect. Call it what it is.

The second change in vocab is using "man caused disasters" in place of "terrorist attack". How do you define "man caused disaster"? How about this- "A premeditated plot causing the loss of property or life of innocent victims and/or non-aggressive military personnel. Planned by oh, I don't know? A TERRORIST? Or dare I say Islamofacist? Thats another word they don't want us to use.

Political correctness is ruining the dialog between us. While it benefits the left, it makes us stop before we say what it is we are thinking and we either don't say it or we sugar coat it an loose strength of the point. We have been made to feel like it is wrong to offend anyone. Well I'm sorry to say it but, sometimes you are going to have to offend someone and sometimes you may feel offended, and it is OK. This is normal. Its part of communicating. So a "man caused disaster" might sound alot nicer. It is still a terrorist attack! Remember people still lost their lives.

The real man caused disaster is letting them control our speech!!!

Card Check

The idea of Card Check, or the Employee Free Choice Act, goes against everything that makes this country great. The secret ballot is the only guarantee a voter has that they won't be harassed about the way they vote. You take that away and the voting process is open to the strong arm tactics of the union in the past. The Unions do not need to have that kind of power. I remember seeing and hearing about how the unions in the 30s and 40s would intimidate people into unions. That is the M.O. of unions today. They intimidate and strong arm employees and businesses to get their way. They are the reason that the American auto makers can't compete with the foreign auto makers based in the south (Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia) and Honda based in Ohio. Automakers in the south don't have to deal with a strong union presence. Here is a list of the automaker in the U.S. that are/were UAW represented work sites- American Motors, Chrysler, Ford, GM, Hudson Motors, Willys, Kaiser Motors, Studebaker, and Diamond-star Motors(Chrysler/Mitsubishi). Of these 9 automakers only 4 are still in business. The Big 3 and Diamond-star. Don't let the name Employee Free Choice Act fool you. Its anything but. When congress was having hearings about bailing out GM and Chrysler there were union members in the gallery and when the members of congress said something they didn't like the would moan and hiss from the gallery. Now if they would do this in a congressional hearing do you not think they would do it their fellow employees voting no for a union? Of course they would. The secret ballot is a MUST for union votes. Can you imagine if the union made its way into Walmart or Target, McDonald's or Burger king? How much do you think union wages would drive up the cost of groceries or a cheese burger?

BO and Leno

The country must be back on track! As if taking time to spend half a day with ESPN setting up cameras and getting your NCAA Tourney. picks on T.V. wasn't bad enough. BO also made an appearance on The Tonight Show w/Leno. But, I'm glad to see that BO and TOTUS are not always together. It lets you get a view of the real BO. I'm not going to say that I haven't ever made an off color remark before because I have. All of us have at one time or another. In our own social group with friends its common and natural when you feel comfortable with who you are with. And if anybody says they haven't ever or don't ever they are full of it. But, to be the POTUS (Pres. Of The U.S.) and make the remark that your bowling "looks like the Special Olympics" in front of millions of people who listen to what you say is wrong and totally unprofessional. There are millions of families who have special needs children and the Special Olympics has done wonderful things for those families. But BO's remarks are typical of leftists. Remember how they couldn't believe that Sarah Palin chose to keep her son Trigg after she found out he would have Downs Syndrome? Their dirty little secret is "that's what abortions are for." I admire the Palin Family for what they have been put through the past 6 months. They stand by their convictions and don't apologize for it. Even if the criticism comes from their own political party. Would you be able to handle that?

Chris Dodd's Bonuses

I bet the phones were ringin off the hook today in D.C. Chris Dodd(D) Conn. first denying that he wrote a line in the stim. bill to payout the AIG bonuses, then saying that the Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner made him put it in there. Meanwhile yesterday Geithner denied it and the BO admin. acted like they had just heard of the bonuses. Finally this afternoon Geithner admitted to telling Dodd to write it into the stim. bill. The uproar about the bonuses is huge and the Dems. are at the root of it. Here is what I'm pondering? Did the admin. know about the bonuses? And how long ago did they know (It has been a month since the stim. bill was written)? Or was this all part of building the animosity of the people against the capitalist system and driving public opinion toward more Gov. involvement? Why else would they write it into the stim. bill? I guess it could be that BO and Dodd were the 2 largest recipients of AIG contributions last year. Its well known that Rahm Emanuel(D) (WH Chief of Staff) has a conference call every morning with CNN, NYT, and George Stephanopolous to name a few. Is that what is driving the coverage away from that fact? Well I'm directing my anger right where it needs to go- THE GOVERNMENT- AIG should've never been bailed out. That is what the uproar is really about. Our money bailing out failed business while we see nothing in return. They should have let them fail and used OUR tax dollars to bail out those taxpayers who were affected by their failure through tax breaks and low or no interest loans. Let the people decide how to spend the peoples money.

TOTUS

There's a new acronym out there today! TOTUS- Teleprompter Of The U.S. We all know how much BO loves his teleprompter, but it is beginning to scare me. I first started worrying when I watched him give a speech to the troops a Camp Lejeune. There were troops at floor level directly in front of him and he NEVER made eye with any of them! The whole speech! Now, today there was a mix up and Teleprompter forgot to switch to the Irish ambassadors speech after BO's speech. Well, Teleprompter switched to the correct speech as BO was making his way to the podium. BO was reading this speech and in it Teleprompter told him to thank himself for throwing a St. Pats. day party. It was the IR. Amb.'s speech!! Now this tells me 2 things- 1. BO doesn't read his own speeches beforehand and 2. He so relies on Teleprompter that he read his own name and didn't stop to think about it. This makes me wonder, is the Pres. a Manchurian candidate? Will he read what ever Teleprompter tells him to? Who does Teleprompter work for? Was Teleprompter made in China? Therefore the socialist, Marxist tendencies? Scared yet? I am.

Tea party

I don't consider myself an activist, (Its kinda feels like a dirty word) but I am going to attend the ReTea party in OKC on Apr. 15th. I'm tired of my voice not being heard by the ram-rods on capitol hill. I'm part of the silent majority that is no longer willing to be silent. Disenfranchisement is growing and we in the majority need to be heard before the train comes off the tracks. It's ridiculous that a governing body would ram through Billions of dollars in a stimulus bill without even reading it or even debating it. Failure brings success. Thats the way it should be for everyone, not just those of us that follow the rules! I'm not getting bailed out. I don't expect it and I don't need it. Its called being responsible for your own actions.

Thoughts for today. Is it really so insane to be cautious of what Smart-grid technology means. It gives the power company the ability to monitor and, if the proper measures were passed, ration out power. In todays theme of man made global warming, with the alarmists in power, rationing of electicity is a possibility. Now, the smart-grid does make the elec. grid more efficient and that is a good thing. But I fear that big brother wouldn't be able to keeps his hands off of it. Imagine its another 100 degree day in the midwest. The elec. comp. sees that your home has triggered an ovreuse alarm. They will be able to curb the amount of power going to your a/c unit (not your entire house just the power to the a/c) and reduce it to 95% power. How would you react?
